“Second largest cliff dwellling in the park”
With about 150 rooms and 21 kivas, the dwelling includes a large dance plaza resembling ceremonial plazas used in modern Pueblo villages today. About 100 to 150 people may have lived in Long House during the mid-thirteenth century.
We had a great time exploring the Long House and talking with the wonderful Park Rangers. We reserved our tickets ahead of time through the park app. Completely worth the stop.
You have to get a ticket for a guided tour in order to visit, but it's soooo worth it. You get more access to the interior of the dwelling-- just be prepared for wonky stairs and ladders. Plus keep an eye out for wild mustangs and other rad wildlife!
