Built in 1931, steamship City of Milwaukee is the lasttraditional railroad car ferry on the Great Lakes.S. S City of Milwaukee presently an important National Historic Landmark museum permanentlymoored on Manistee Lake and available to thegeneral public. This vessel provides well guided tours,museum exhibits, gift shop, special events,facility rentals, volunteer opportunities andthe acclaimed “Ghost Ship” haunted house in October. The Acacia is one of 39 180 foot seagoing bouytenders built for the United States Coast Guardbetween 1942 and 1944. The cutter is a multipurposevessel, used for bouy tending, icebreaking,search and rescue, fire fighting, logistics and other tasks.The Acacia’s primary duty was maintaining more than 210 bouys,lighthouses and other navigational aids.
