This place is pet friendly and definitely a good spot for kids as well. The dwellings are open for climbing and exploring. Really interesting site to see. The negative I would say is that the parking lot is like 30 feet in front of the dwellings, making it impossible to get a great picture of the thing or to feel what it would've been like living there. It took me about 30 minutes to explore and sketch. I didn't visit the museum/gift shop because I had my dog with me.
Not free anymore.
I was very disappointed. To me it looked very fake. Every thing was perfect. I don't think it is perfectly perserved. I think it is rebuilt and maintained. It has a huge gift shop and concession area. It is and has been privately owned and it is for profit. It is not a state or federal site.
Very fun for families (just be aware that the gift shop is full of expensive breakables with any child's reach).
This is one of the smaller cliff dwellings I've visited. However, it is definitely the most preserved and extremely beautiful landscape. It is well worth a visit!
We enjoyed this stop quite a bit. It's not crazy big but you can explore and learn a lot. My 5 kids from 3 to 9 enjoyed it!
We enjoyed our visit and had lots of photo ops with the kids! Learned alot about the people and wasa ble to go into the buildings and check out how the people lived. Worth the money.
We had so much fun here! My 6 and 3 year old boys had so much fun exploring the cave dwellings, and my dog was very happy she could accompany us everywhere...even in the museum and gift shop! Everyone who worked there was super friendly, and the view was breath taking. Also, it's not far off the highway and easy to get to. Definitely a must see! Also a bonus...kids under seven are free!
Absolutely love Manitou Springs, CO! The cliff dwellings are a must see!
Very touristy. Lots of kids. Great history and amazing views though!
