“Park for the whole family!”
Keehner Park features extensive woodland trails following the creek. The creekside trails offer a beautiful scenic hike with a collection of wildflowers specimens and a glimpse at history with an extensive collection of fossils and clay deposits. Visitors are asked to leave all the creek's treasures as they find them. Keehner Park features 123 acres of natural beauty and also provides visitors with a glimpse into history. The park contains a log cabin, circa 1833 that has been reconstructed by volunteers. Other fun features of Keehner Park include: an outdoor amphitheater; hiking trails; picnic shelters; playgrounds; environmental educational programs; and family-friendly events throughout the year such as Pumpkin Fest, West Chester Concert Series, and Pioneer Christmas.
This is a fun park for all ages. There are plenty of places for kids to play and some fine woods to hike. There's a creek running through, too. In the winter there are some ok hills for sledding. The area is pretty flat, so we took what we could get.
One distinctive thing about Keehner is the amphitheater. Its a great place for local theater or concerts.
There aren't really hours that its open; the park opens at dawn and closes at dusk. And there's no admission charge.
Beautiful park, great for day activities. Plus check the schedule, they offer free movies in the park and concerts.
