“30 minutes from historic Medora”
The Diamond Bar Ranch, once known as the old TL Ranch, is near Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and 30 minutes from historic Medora. It is 5 miles from the Wanagan Creek access to the Maah Daah Hey Trail, and about 3 miles from access to the Buffalo Gap Trail. It is in the heart of the beautiful pristine Badlands of North Dakota...Enjoy an overnight stay or extended time at our Bed and Breakfast! The main part of the cabin which is our home and which we share as a B&B, was built in the 1800's. There is one guest bedroom, and a one-room bunkhouse. The ranch has many acres of pristine Badlands which you may wish to explore on horseback or hiking. The trails are unmarked, except for "cow trails" or game trails. We do not provide horses; you may bring your own and use our corrals and ride on the ranch. You may prefer to use marked trails...The Wanagan Creek access to the Maah Daah Hey Trail is just 5 miles east from the ranch. The Maah Daah Hey is a 97 mile marked trail running from the north unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park to Medora. Another approximately 50 miles have been added going south of Medora and will open in 2010. The Buffalo Gap Trail is about 3 miles from the ranch, and the Petrified Forest trails in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park are about 4 miles from the ranch site.
Enjoy a unique and interesting slice of history in this old restored homesteaded ranch home. Rustic but comfortable, every corner is filled with a story and Fran is a warm and entertaining host. Truly a one-of-a-kind stay.
