The Foosaner Art Museum, formerly the Brevard Art Museum, is located at 1463 Highland Avenue in Melbourne. It houses works by international, national and local artists and rotates exhibits on a regular basis. The museum was established on March 14, 1978. In the summer of 2011, the museum was renamed Foosaner Art Museum and merged with the Florida Institute of Technology. This occurred after receiving a $1 million gift from the Foosaner Foundation, in honor of Samuel J. Foosaner. Foosaner was a promient New Jersey attorney who lived in Cocoa, Florida.
