EconoLodge Downtown

No frills here. Econolodge Memphis filled the bare requirements. It's a place to shower and sleep. The decor is outdated and not well maintained. The facility is pet friendly and you could tell from the dog poo in the hallways. The breakfast was technically hot but consisted of biscuits and cold gravy, defrosted eggo waffles and Some Danishes packed into an empty hotel room with 30 adults trying to get their money's worth. When notifying the staff the blow dryer was broken, they let me know they were aware and would work on it. One good part was it was only a ten minute walk from the Mississippi Riverfront. For the $70 plus $25 pet fee it served its purpose without grossing me out completely.

When we arrived they claimed I had stayed the night before and told me I didn't have a reservation. I showed my receipt and they cleared that mess up. Then on the way to our room some guy stopped up and said we moved your room to a different one! Pain in the butt! Then when we get to our room we notice the disgusting mess. Red stains on the furniture that looked like blood and there was no air conditioner. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

If you value yourself, your family, your belongings, and your vehicle - do NOT stay at this "hotel". We picked this hotel because of it is within walking distance of Beale St and the Mississippi river. But between the drinking/partying in the parking structure, the pot smoking in the VERY old, rundown elevators, the dirty bedding, and the fact that our truck was being cased by 2 very shady individuals - we did not even unpack! We got the hell out of there and did not look back. Sadly this place gave us a very bad taste for Memphis............

Didn’t feel safe with the parking situation. Got by some kind of spider while sleeping and had two hug lumps on my arm. Wouldn’t recommend nor would I go back!

This is a no frills hotel, but our room was clean, it was a great price compared to other hotels in the area and it was really conveniently located for walking to just about everything. It was a little bit of an odd set up with the breakfast being located in an empty room on the 9th floor and a pretty meager breakfast at that. With all that being said, we didn't come to memphis to sit in our hotel room so we weren't at all bothered by the basic nature of this hotel. I will say the owners of this hotel really do need to seriously consider a renovation and some much needed repair on the sketchy elevators!!!

A basic chain hotel, but with nice touches. Good location downtown near Beale Street, bar and BBQ joint in the hotel. It's a little far from the airport, but it's not an issue if you aren't flying.
