Giant Superman Statue In. Metropolis, Il

The local Police were out when we stopped on our road trip. My husband had to ask if he could go up….and if we could pull the van in so I wouldn’t have to get out of the van. It was a fun stop! We would love to stop into some of the buildings next time.

Definitely a fun roadside stop. They were having a mini Comic Con the last weekend of July when we visited, so lots of cosplay and food vendors.

Fun place to make a quick stop with the dogs. There is a great visitor store next to the superman area as well.

Fun photo op and able to stretch your legs. If you have a little time or want to walk around more there is a little superman museum next to the statue too

Definitely worth the stop if your in the area, it’s a great photo op. Also down the street they have a Superman shop and mini museum, nothing earth shattering but quaint. Kids loved it!

So, this was a last-minute add to our epic road trip, as suggested by someone @ the Kaskaskia dragon. We didn't think we'd make it, as night was setting in. But the statute is lit up, & my photos make it look like it was daylight! There's some cutouts nearby for photo ops, and a gift store/museum up the block for the ultimate superhero experience!
