“award winning simmerin' sauce”
"If you find yourself travelling along Florida's Forgotten Coast and you are looking for some good, no, some "Killer Seafood" then this is the place. Killer Seafood opened in February 2004, and ever since they have been providing the locals and visitors with some of the best seafood in the Florida panhandle. As you walk into Killer Seafood you are instantly greeted by the owners, who are usually hard at work behind the counter. They cheerfully greet everyone who walks in the door as if they were greeting a friend. Decorated as the perfect beach hangout, with corrugated tin on the walls and ceiling, Killer Seafood makes you feel as if you are right there on the water. Look out the front doors and windows and you will see the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, just across the street. The menu at Killer Seafood is a mix of fresh local seafood and some of the owners' special creations too. There are so many things to choose from on the menu: seafood baskets, seafood po' boys, Killer Salad with marinated grilled tuna and more. The Killer Fish Tacos are a creation of owner Kim. While she was in L.A. a friend would bring her fresh yellowfin tuna, which she marinated, grilled, and put into fish tacos. That recipe has stuck and is now one of the most popular items on the menu. The signature dish would have to be "Killer Seafood", a dish created by owner Michael. This consists of your choice of fresh scallops, oysters or shrimp with "Killer's Simmerin' Sauce", served in a bread bowl or in a big bowl over rice or pasta. Once you try Killer Seafood's Simmerin' Sauce you will be hooked. The sauce is just the right blend of taste and spice to make you lips know they are tasting heaven. The Simmerin' Sauce can also be used as a base for gumbo. You can't leave without trying a piece of Killer Seafood's award-winning homemade Key lime pie, or Killer's sweet potato and pecan pie. The Key lime pie is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy; after enjoying a piece you will understand why this pie is award-winning. The sweet potato and pecan pie is the best of two Southern desserts, sweet potato pie and pecan pie. This pie will rank up there as one of your favorites. The owners Michael Scoggins, Kim Halverson, and Kevin Crouse have made Killer Seafood a place where locals and visitors alike come to get some "Killer Seafood."" --http://roadfood.com/Restaurant/Review/5177-5247/killer-seafood
