Mound Science and Energy Museum in Miamisburg is located on the site of the former Mound Laboratory. The Lab was one of a few DOE facilities for the research, development, and production of nuclear weapons components. The Lab also produced nuclear power sources for deep space and lunar missions. Displays depict the history of the Dayton Project (Dayton's part in the development of the atomic bomb), the role of the Laboratory in the H-Bomb, and Plutonium powFer sources for space exploration, including the Voyager, Galileo, and Cassini missions. The museum is located directly across from the largest conical Indian mound in Ohio.
