“Modeled after an English pub!”
We started working on George and the Dragon in the summer of 2011. Driven by our desire to work with people we enjoy in a laid back yet professional environment while creating fabulous food, we left our long term jobs in the restaurant industry to set out on our own George and the Dragon is modeled after an English pub or public house. Back in the day, the pub was more than a place to get a beer. It was also a gathering place for the community, a place for a traveler to get a room for the night, and of course the place to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal whether you were a guest passing through town or a local treating yourself to a night out. It is our hope that George and the Dragon will grow to be such a gathering place in the hearts of the people in our community.
Loved everything about this place! Great food!! We tried the herb chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and fried pickles for an appetizer. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. I don't normally like dark meat but I ate all the meat on my plate. Perfect combo with the potatoes and gravy. I've had better seasoned fried pickles elsewhere but these were still good. Great service and very relaxed setting. Street parking wasn't a problem and located in a small business area surrounded by residential. Very small town feel. Loved it!
Five Stars for quality of the food and the waitress, both made for a nice evening.
I went for the Bangers and Mash and the Mrs had the Herb Chicken. The Battered Green Beans and Aioli were delicious and the Pretzel Bread was fantastic as well for the appetizers. Cookies and Ice Cream desert was a nice way to end the meal.
