Pete has been fascinated with the art of cooking since he was a teenager, and has been studying and working in the industry for over 30 years. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1986 went to work on a cruise ship then helpped opened a restaurant chain in Alabama with his brother-in-law Bob Baumhower shortly after. Pete also worked as Executive Chef at University of Alabama for some time.After studying and working in many restaurants over the years, Pete’s dream of opening his own restaurant came true, and Pete opened Panini Pete’s Cafe and Bakeshop in Fairhope, Alabama in February of 2006. Since then, Panini Pete and his delicious cuisine have made headlines and Pete has made appearances on Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins and Dives, Guys Big Bite, and CMT’s Sweet Home ALabama! As well as Touring the US and Canada with Guy Fieri and his Traveling Road Show! He continues to tour and take part in TV appearances and special events everywhere. Pete is a founding member and currently touring with the “MESSLORDS”, visiting various Military bases from Great Lakes to Japan! Where he, STRETCH, Gorilla, Boss Man set out to cook for and entertain our Troops. Stop by for Delicious beignets and coffee or a nice Breakfast Panino from 8:00AM – 10:30AM, Monday through Saturday. Or come Join us for a Wonderful Lunch 11:00am – 2:30pm featuring: Hand Pattied Burgers, All Beef Hot-dogs and Fresh Cut Fries and Chips. And don’t forget our European Panini!! Featuring house roasted meats and home made mozzarella! Made from scratch soups are always a hit.Save room for some fresh baked sweets & treats. Chocolate chip cookies, biscotti & pies!
