The Jitney

A cozy yet sophisticated bar located in beautiful Eastern Iowa with an eclectic wine, beer, and cocktail list. While not forgetting the power of pairings, our tasting menu exemplifies the palate with a diverse list of charcuterie plates, artisan cheeses, marinated olives, and gourmet popcorn. Co-Owner - Katie (Chapman) Farrowe. Katie is is a Monticello native, but lived in Los Angeles for almost the past 15 years. While in Los Angeles, she worked at a number of restaurants giving her the knowledge of over 300 grape varieties and styles as well as extensive food and wine pairing. After starting a family with her husband, Angus Farrowe, she relocated to Monticello once again. It was then she decided to put her expertise into opening her own business, The Jitney. Co-Owner - Erin Danneman. Erin is also a Monticello native, but has lived in both New York City and Chicago for the past 14 years. During this time she has held the position of a Producer for Television, Film, and Commercials. She also acquired a strong palate for wine and cocktails, and is proud to call herself a self proclaimed connoisseur of wine, cocktails, and of course food. Erin decided to put her palate to use, by partnering with her long time friend, Katie, and open The Jitney.
