“a historic giant tractor”
There are only a handful of Big-4’s left in the world and fewer than 10 still run on their own power. This tractor can be viewed with its smaller antique counterparts in the museum compound on Main Street in Monticello, a very unique tourist attraction!
This review is not for the incredible tractor because the tractor itself deserves 10/10. This review is for the visitor center located next door that's supposed to let visitors in to get a closer look. My fiancé, who happens to be a farmer, was extremely excited to see this small town attraction and after driving 3000 miles to Monticello and after hours of being in the car he hopped out to look at it. It was a nice day for December and most of the snow from days ago had melted. He wanted to get pictures of the tractor to show his farming buddies when he got back home, but there was a glare on the glass. He noticed a note on the window saying someone at the visitor center would let him in so he went next door to ask while I sat with the babies. He came back very disappointed and when I asked him what the visitor center said he told me that the lady working there said, "I'm not walking out in that snow for that stupid tractor." If we weren't already behind schedule I would have went in there myself. So hoping she sees this, thanks for disappointing my fiancé and if you don't want to do your job maybe you need to be replaced. Merry Christmas
