“Home to some of the first Mormon Settlers”

Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, sent parties from the Salt Lake Valley to establish new communities and support their expanding population. Mormon homesteaders, who settled east of Blacktail Butte near the turn of the 19-century, clustered their farms to share labor and community, a stark contrast with the isolation typical of many western homesteads. These settlers first arrived in the 1890s from Idaho establishing a community (named Grovont by the U.S. Post Office) known today as “Mormon Row.” How to get there: Drive north from Jackson on highway 191 past Moose Junction and turn right onto Antelope Flats Road. Follow the road about 1 ½ miles until you see a north-south running dirt road marked by a distinctive pink stucco house on the left with a small dirt parking area. A trail brochure and interpretive sign can be found at the parking lot.

If you visited Grand Teton and didn't take a picture of an old barn at Mormon Row, then did you every really visit? These old buildings have come to symbolize Jackson Hole-- it doesn't get more Wyoming iconic than this. Amateur and pro photographers alike should definitely block out some time to snap a few shots. If you're lucky, you'll even get some bison in the background!

This is a remote and dangerous road and doesn’t go to any barns!!!! Super scary in a small and rugged RV. This site needs to be changed to the TA Moulton Barn. Do not go here!!!

The navigation takes you down a very rocky dirt forest road. Not suggested for smaller vehicles. N3ver made it to the barns, sad face. Beautiful area though....

Beautiful. We didn't go down the gravel road as we had rv. However there were plenty of barns and other buildings a little before in the community.
