RV Park was great Full hookups or dry camping if you want to be closer to the sand, NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE BEACH. Dogs on leash only in the RV park itself The only place you can go with a dog is about .5 mile hike north BUT if you do it's worth it! Sand dollars everywhere, offleash for miles. about $50 per night.

We were staying at a very nice private park nearby, drove by to check out this beachfront primitive camping we had used decades before. FHU's as of 4/1/2015 I'm told. Immediately we checked ReserveAmerica for availability. Weekends, even in February, even Super Bowl weekend, were pretty tight, but we managed to get a full week (which we subsequently extended). This is the first Cal State Campground we have used since we moved to multi-slide rigs pulling a dinghy 15 years ago. We want FHU's with satellite TV clearance with campground etiquette rules enforced. About time California started putting some of my tax money into its parks! This place is gorgeous with back-in sites providing a panoramic view of the Pacific out of the front windshield of your motorhome. It is not sheltered from the heavy winds that do occur in the area. Perfect? Until the group showed up Sunday afternoon in the tent area blasting music as we left for dinner. Unbeknownst to me at the time was that the campground hosts & park rangers were on them immediately. Kudos to the state for this awesome upgrade & the park personnel for enforcing the identified rules.

Very nice state park – one of our favorites for the year! It used to be a parking lot so it's not fancy by any means; however, the park is right on the beach. We could see the ocean from our windows, some days better than others depending on if another RV was blocking the view. The site we were in was a back-in with full hookups. The full hookup sites are staggered which is a bonus for helping maintaining views of the ocean. These sites, however, are close together so there is no privacy. It was surprisingly very quiet. There is a small hillock behind the full hookups which helped buffer any road noise. The park was not crowded in December although it filled up more on the weekends. Be prepared for wind – it was windy just about every day. And I don't mean a light breeze :) The WII FI was really slow to the point of being useless. Great Verizon with 4g 4 bars. Directv satellite coverage was also perfect. There are two camp hosts that alternate time and all of them were very friendly and helpful.; There are several seafood markets downtown plus an avocado farm (yum!). Spencers is a local grocer that carries a surprisingly varied amount of products. There are also farmer's markets every week. We loved it here!

This is a great state park and our spot had full hookups! The location of the campground is just a few steps from the sand. The sunsets were amazing and the staff was great. It is about 10 minutes outside the heart of Morro Bay, which allows easy access if you need it and also makes you feel a bit more remote.

You'll be a few easy steps away from a beautiful sandy beach, no matter which site you choose. The beach is a rock hounds paradise, and the sand is perfect for building castles. At north end of beach, if tide isn't too high, you'll be able to explore tide pools (always use caution, the waves are unpredictable). Morro Bay Rock is on the horizon, glorious landscape. There is apparently a city bus that makes a route stop very near the park, so if you're interested in making a trip into Morro Bay without driving, you might want to check that out ... we didn't have the chance this trip. Camp sites are close together, but the 10pm quiet time seemed to be honored by all. During the day, most people are out and about ... so much to enjoy outdoors.

This is an old parking lot for beach access that the state of California turned into an "RV Park" but its still just a parking lot with a great beach, they have added some full hook up sites but most are dry camping and there are no amenities besides dirty bathrooms. Id go back for the beach but that's about it. I could see how this place in the summer could be a real busy/noisy place

The camp is clean and very well maintained. The majority of people staying here were in RV's. we had a couple of people staying in tents as well. The best site (if you are dry camping) are closest to the beach sand dunes since they offer the best protection from the wind and sun. this camp has flush toilets and cold water showers, however, any guest that is register here can drive 15 min south on Hgw 1 to Morro Bay State Park Campground and use their token-operated showers. another minor detail that none of the sites offer any privacy, it is basically a large parking lot with some open areas for staking the tents, wooden benches, and fire pits. no trees for shade so make sure you have awnings or portable shade available (EZ-Up), close proximity to residential area offers no feeling of camping in nature, however, access tt beach and sound of crashing waves supersedes any minor nuisances.

Besides this minor inconvenience, we still consider this one of our favorite beach camping spots.

This is a great spot by the beach, just a few miles north of Morro Bay. Not all sites have hook up, I stayed in a spot that didn’t. It is essentially a parking lot. You cannot fit rigs bigger than 24’ in the non hook up section, the hook up sites also will not easily accommodate really large rigs. Pricey at $35 for no hook up, I think full hook up is $50. You have to have reservations as they will not accept walk ups or adjustments due to Covid-19. Fairly quiet. I had good cell and WiFi here, albeit slow.

First time dry camping in our travel trailer. I booked a month in advance since they are only taking online reservations due to Covid-19. They do provide full hook but they were all taking. We stayed on site 20 which was great for us. The site has two separate parking spaces that will accommodate a 24ft RV and vehicle. The site also has a picnic table, burn pit, and the shared water value is about 5ft away. Clean restrooms which are about 50ft away. Great experience will book again!
