“A Meal You Won’t Soon Forget”
Stan Van Beurden Has Owned The Hofbrau For More Than 40 Years. Stan And His Father Opened The Hofbrau In 1971 After Running Several Eateries From Yosemite To Morro Bay. They Decided To Do A German Style Restaurant Complete With Lederhosen Worn By The Servers. They Served Hand-Carved French Dip Sandwiches Piled High With Slow Cooked Roast Beef, Homemade Clam Chowder And Hand Dipped Fish And Chips. The Hofbrau Was An Instant Hit With Locals And Tourists Alike. Only A Few Things Have Changed Since Those Days (The Lederhosen Are Gone To The Joy Of Our Servers, And In 2002 We Moved Down The Street) But The Menu Is The Same With Those Mouth-Watering Sandwiches And Delicious Fish And Chips. The View Is Even Better With Our Closer Proximity To The Rock. And Just Like In The Beginning Stan Is Still The One Behind The Counter Carving The Sandwiches. Only Now Rather Than Being Joined By His Father, Stan And His Daughter, Alison, Are The Carving Team. Of Course The Menu Isn’t Just Beef And Fish. There’s Pastrami, Turkey, Hamburgers, Shrimp And Chips, Homemade Soups And A Fresh Salad Bar. For A Full Menu Visit Our Menu Page. Stan Prides Himself On Using The Freshest And Highest Quality Ingredients For All The Menu Items. The Award Winning Clam Chowder And Soups Du Jor Are Made Daily To Ensure Freshness. And Of Course It Wouldn’t Be Hofbrau If There Wasn’t Beer. Even A Hofbrau Hefewiesen On Tap. Plus Many Bottled Beers To Choose From. Being On The Central Coast In The Heart Of Wine Country There Are Also Several Wines To Choose From To Complete A Meal. Whether You Are A Long Time Local Or This Is Your First Visit To Morro Bay A Stop At The Hofbrau Is A Must. Come Down And Say Hi To Stan And Alison And Enjoy At Meal You Won’t Soon Forget.
