We have a Crystal Rockhounding Area for your Crystal Mining Experience.The mine produces quartz crystals that are beautiful and easy to clean. These crystals have only red clay and some Iron deposits that are easily removed with Oxicile Acid Our digs are geared for experienced miners and for a pleasurable family outing. There is a nominal charge of $10 for adults, $5 for children 7-15, kids 6 and under is free. Of course you get to keep all of the crystals you find. Fisher Mountain also known as the "Stanley Mine" is one of the oldest and most famous mines in Montgomery County. Located only 4 miles from our shop, the "Stanly Mine" has produced some of the most beautiful "Clear" Quartz points and clusters in the Mt. Ida area. There are plenty of crystals for small children to easily find, because all of the years of active mining on Fisher Mountain.

we took a road trip from kc,mo just to go dig on fisher mt. for our anniversary.we had been there 5 years ago and had the best time ,judy was very helpful and very delightful to talk to.the last time,this time whick was may 16,2019 at 9am the woman who is filling in for judy was very rude and unhelpful.dhe comes off with -i have a party of 30 on the mountain and you cannot go dig there today come back some other time.Really?? i guess we wasnt worth her time to take our money?i didnt know you could have private digging partys?? i asked what else we could do and she volanteered no information even tho there was a sign in judys yard for another crystal mine just 5 miles up the road and i did just drive in from kansas city?I wasnt going home empty handed just because the lady wanted to b a snobby crone.So i went up the road and payed twice as much just to pick up rocks off the side of a mountain.i know if judy would of been around she would not of treated me the way her help did. SO DONT DRIVE OUT OF YOUR WAY TO GO TO FISHER MOUNTAIN. they dont care about judys repeat business unless your a party of 30 and have deep pockets.
