Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 24, 2023This place gets booked up fast in the summer months due to its proximity to the more scenic sections of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. They have a nice "Overflow" area, that also serves as a "first come first serve" area. Depending on how many people are already in the overflow you better have a long power cable. We had to use our 100' 20 amp cable with a 30 amp adapter to make it, because there was a class A between us and the power box. Water was a bit easier to get to, needed only 50' of hose. We didn't really get a chance to explore the campground itself, but it seemed ok. Lakefront sites, decent dump station, and close to the town of Munising.

We stayed here for our last night visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It's a pretty basic RV park with exactly what you night expect in terms of amenities & limited privacy. We had water & electric at our site and made use of the showers & dump station during our stay. Everything was pretty clean.
The main reason for giving this place four stars has to do with the location of the park and the friendliness of the staff. You have access to a clean beach right from the part, and it's a pretty easy kayak or canoe paddle to the Grand Isle from this location. It's a short bike ride or long walk to the Duck Pond Eatery which has a nice back patio, really good food, and a lengthy beer selection. The campground is also fairly close to downtown Munising which makes it pretty easy to get groceries, etc.
All in all, not a bad pick if you're visiting the area and want a decent place to stay.

We could stay only a day and as luck would have it, Site 98 gave us the lake less than 20 steps from our door WITH full hookups.
I was warmly welcomed and the registration process was smooth. All sites have a fire ring and table with adequate space between sites. A rainfall caused several sites to have ankle-high water (63/62/56). The restrooms and showers are clean.
I will echo the prior posts, it's a decent campground to experience the area and my overall score of 5 stars reflects the lakeshore site. There is some road noise from Hwy 28 but the lakeshore sites and views will make up for it.

really nice water front spots and water views from other sites as well; great wooded tent sites at either end of the park
Sites are pretty close together without much privacy
A few sites looked pretty muddy, so it would be good to call ahead to check
Bathrooms are really well maintained and clean
Noise from the road is pretty limited
Good Verizon & ATT signal; Sprint was ok, but calls had static

We were lucky to get in here, it was a full campground & we booked way in advance. I wish we could have been on the water the waterfront sites are nice with a fire ring right off the beach. There is beautiful driftwood all over the beach and a nice view. We had full hook up which is nice.
We made dinner and sat to eat and we hear an ice cream truck tune which was one of the staff riding a tricycle playing the music selling ice cream. That was special. It was cold out we had to run the heater at night in July.
Close by several towns and Picture Rock. Miners rock has a small trail that you can walk & see Picture Rock from there. The weather was windy & rainy out so we didn't do the boat ride to it. If it was nice out we would have Kayaked to it. There are many falls in the area most have a small hike to them but easy hikes.
I gave them a 3 on noise due to the family with 5 kids camping in a tent next to us with a crying baby the entire time.

When it comes to campgrounds in Munising there are limited choices. Especially if you are a freestyle camper and like to go with the flow staying a few nights here or there, not making reservations.
This places has great views of the lake and a nice little beach to walk on.
My biggest gripe is the bathrooms. They are actually pretty new but not well taken care of at all. You can tell that folks are not campers. Never see a toilet brush!! Run out of TP constantly. Good places know you clean really good once a day and do spot checks especially in the evening.

We stayed in a w/e site with lake views and enjoyed. Gravel on the newly refurbished sites made for level and dry camping. Gorgeous view of the sunset and a quick walk to the sandy beach. Route 23 is just behind the campground which made it noisy but the campers themselves were quiet

The campground itself is not bad, electric and water for 30$ a night.
The site was kind of level, but not perfect.
It rained a lot the days before our arrival, so it was pretty muddy everywhere.
What makes me give it the rating of 3 stars is the unfriendly staff:
10 minutes before checkout (noon), we were packing up getting ready to leave. Someone came to tell us that we had to hurry up. There was nobody waiting for our spot!!!
Good cell service with AT&T.

W/E only with dump site available. Water is at the front of sites and shared between two sites. Have enough hose with you to connect. Our site 30 amp. Two electric hookups on pole between sites. Some may need extra cord, these are located at about midway depth of sites. Sites themselves are very wide but how you connect to hookups determines how you park and how close your neighbor is.
Sites are grass, sand or gravel. Fairly level.
We were backed in directly to highway with a row of trees separating. Very noisy from traffic.
WiFi good but slow
Lake view and access excellent, try for a site on lake.
We did have a fire ring and table at our site.
Roads are absolute disaster of mud and giant craters/potholes
Staff friendly and helpful

Heading to a nearby casino to park for the night when we drove by and saw this place. Called up and was able to get a lakefront site on Saturday in late August, we lucked out. I asked on the phone what the site what like and the attendant chuckled and said to come by, we would like it. We did! Site 3 is very large with direct access to the water, this is a shared beach entrance but it seemed like we were the only ones enjoying the waterfront. The views are amazing. Electric and Water only. I hope to come back and enjoy this place again.
