“nestled among virgin pine & hemlock trees”
Wagner Falls is located south of Munising, on the east side of MI-94 just south of the MI-28 MI-94 junction. It has its own state park. There is small parking area and a sign. A short boardwalk leads to the falls. It is a pleasant walk and a pretty waterfall. This scenic waterfall is nestled amongst virgin pine and hemlock trees. There is a small parking area and a half-mile trail with an observation deck overlooking the falls. Wagner Creek falls over a stratum of erosion-resistant dolomite into order to flow into a shallow gorge containing the Anna River. The Anna, soon afterwards, flows northward into Lake Superior.
Wagner falls is definitely worth a stop! It is literally a 30 second drive off of the highway, and a 5 minute walk into the forest before you are greeted with the awesome falls. You will be able to hear them just before you can see them!
Bring that ND if you are a photographer cause these are very photogenic!
Nice waterfall with a nice, flat, short walking path to it! Went mid July- it had been dry so the bugs weren't even bad!
