“the name says it all!”

The World's Largest Cedar Bucket is a 1,556 imperial gallons red cedar bucket. The bucket is approximately 6 feet (1.8 m) tall, has a 6 feet (1.8 m) diameter at its base and 9 feet (2.7 m) at its top. The bucket was built in 1887 by the Tennessee Red Cedar Woodenworks Company from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It was originally displayed in Murfreesboro, until it was displayed at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the 1904 Saint Louis World's Fair. The cedar bucket factory burned in 1952, and local grocer Crigger’s Market bought the item to display it. It was auctioned off approximately in 1965 and it was purchased by a Rossville, Georgia amusement park. It was brought back to Murfreesboro in 1976 to be displayed at Cannonsburgh Village.

Took a trip with my wife and our youngest son here. This is in a little section of Murfreesboro off to its own called Cannonsburg village. Pretty cool little village inside of the town. it is layed out really cool . setup like an old village from long ago. The bucket was pretty impressive. the history here is cool . the village was all closed up because of the cold but you can still walk around all year long but the houses are closed. Here is a Youtube Video of our trip check it out it was fun. http://youtu.be/e6o8ceP4BMo

The whole area was interesting. I thought this would be a roadside attraction - out and take a pic and back into the car. We stayed over an hour looking at buildings and reading history. It was fun.

I remember playing inside that bucket with my brothers as a youngster when it sat outside Crigger’s Market. Later I played in a rock band with Steve Crigger and we’d often go to his parent’s store where the bucket was displayed. I still have the cedar bucket my parents purchased from Criggers Market back in the 50’s!

Such a great place to stop and learn a bit of history. So much more than a giant bucket! Me and my 3 kiddos loved the stop.

After our drive from Florida, this was our first stop on our road trip. Looked really cool from behind the gate, I say that because they are closed on mondays and we arrived on a Monday. So don’t come on a Monday! Hopefully we’ll get the chance to hit it on our way back home :)

Fun and interesting place. My in-laws have lived in Nashville for years signs have never been here. I was able to tell them some history I learned here about Murfreesboro. The bucket it's not the original bucket, but a reproduction. The original was destroyed by arsonists a number of years ago.

When you need a free place to stretch your legs and see something interesting, this is the place to go! Old train caboose on the property makes for great photo opa and how can you pass up the largest cedar bucket? Definitely stop by!
