“Full of fishy goodness”
Ted Hammerman, A.K.A “Mr.Fish” has been wheeling and dealing seafood along the Grand Strand for over 30 years. After a long stint of travelling to and from Asia, South and Central America teaching people how to produce and package seafood for export in the late nineties/early 2000s, he decided to settle back into his nest in Myrtle Beach to focus on his wholesale seafood operation. Several years later, his daughter, Sheina finished up her culinary degree at Johnson & Wales Charleston Campus and started a catering business. While searching for a commercial kitchen to use for her business, she and her Dad came across a location on 34th avenue north. The two of them decided to open it as a small restaurant with 25 seats 6 days a week, with room to prep for catering events on the weekends. The restaurant surprisingly became an instant success! The need to expand was imminent within the first year with the opening of the Mr.Fish Seafood Market two doors down from the restaurant then soon after they took over the unit next door expanding the dining room to 85 seats. 4 years later, the need to move into a bigger and better location became a necessity.Maybe more Mr.Fish’s will pop up in the Carolinas?
