With summer just around the corner, fishing has started to pick up. Catches of croaker, puffers, puppy drum, sea mullet and skate have been coming over the rail. Whether you are a beginner or advanced angler, Jennette’s Pier offers everything needed to experience world-class pier fishing. Rod and reel combos can be rented or purchased in the pier house along with bait, ice and tackle, including double bottom rigs, hooks, lures and more. Friendly fishing experts are available to assist you in finding the right combination for current conditions. The pier’s education department offers basic and advanced fishing programs. Whether you sign on for Family Fishing or an advanced class, you’ll enjoy fantastic fishing while making memories for a lifetime. There’s plenty to see and do on the beaches surrounding the pier. In addition to sun, surf and sand, a number of special events are held during the summer at Jennette’s, including surf, volleyball and kayak competitions. Watch Extreme Volleyball Professionals in action on Saturday, May 31. This volleyball tour stop features some of the best players in the country battling it out in the sand. The event runs all day on the south beach. Come see our magnificent green moray eel swimming among a dozen fish friends in our Pier Piling exhibit, which is centrally located in the pier house.  The Angler’s Club offers people the opportunity to own part of the Pier and to express an important message from your family. Angler’s Club sponsorships cost $500 each and are red in color and shaped like a fish.
