“offering ongoing visual art experiences”
The mission of 5th Avenue of the Arts is to offer ongoing visual arts experiences distinctive for Nashvillians and visitors through a variety of exhibitions that change every month and special programs and events. With Music City’s diverse genres of arts and entertainment opportunities within the city’s historic downtown entertainment district, the 5th Avenue corridor features 15 to 20 art venues. Directly on 5th Avenue of the Arts are anchor galleries, The Arts Company, The Rymer Gallery, and Tinney Contemporary, as well as the eclectic Art at the Arcade featuring Twist Gallery and Coop Gallery, among other boutique galleries. Within a four-block area to the east and west, more galleries can be discovered on the cross streets of Broadway, Demonbreun, Commerce, Church, Deaderick and Charlotte. The area is evolving with thousands of new residents moving to the center of town and openings of grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, high-rise buildings, and more art galleries. Residents and visitors from around the world have come to know downtown Nashville as a flourishing urban destination, where people are invited to walk, linger, look, shop, and visit a wide range of distinctive venues.
