“20 stories of solid rock”

The immensity is startling...the majesty is striking. 20 stories of solid rock, carved by the fingers of nature—Virginia’s Natural Bridge.

Treasured by kings, purchased by patriots, this great stone monument is the looking-glass of history.

Gentle breezes stir and the mammoth archway whispers stories of America's origins at this sentinel of Shenandoah.

Elevate your senses as you pass the sheer walls along the beautiful and serene Cedar Creek Trail. Feel the presence of legends who passed this portal. Washington, Jefferson, the Civil War men of the blues and grays. Explore the history of Virginia's Native Americans in the authentic Monacan village.

Experience The Natural Bridge - a unique collection of natural wonder framed by the beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Discover Virginia's immense Natural Bridge – a National Historic Landmark shaped by Mother Nature over hundreds of years from twenty stories of solid limestone rock; then descend 34 stories and explore the deepest caverns on the East Coast; and see colorful, exotic butterflies flutter in the new Butterflies at the Bridge - Virginia's largest indoor butterfly garden.

A serene nature trail takes you through the great stone archway and alongside the Cedar Creek. Travel back in time with the Monacan Village, just past the Natural Bridge, and then continue your journey down to Lace Falls.

Once owned by Thomas Jefferson, surveyed by a young George Washington, and traversed by Civil War soldiers - the Natural Bridge is a portal to history.

Natural Bridge - it's easy to get to and hard to forget. Just off I-81 in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Been here! A pretty cool sight although the entry fee is a little steep for just a viewing of the bridge. I recommend going to the National Bridge Zoo thats just down the way from the bridge. The zoo is low budget zoo that outshines any other zoo including the San Diego zoo! If your a hands on type a person you'll have a blast. Llamas followed us through out the park and baby flamingos on their daily walk, climbed right over my feet! I loved it!

We stayed last night July 3, 2014. There are several families here. It is an excellent stop on a road trip. There's at least a day of things to experience including the nightly light show at the Natural bridge. Yes, it still happens and it is still the same as it was in 1927 when it first started. The Hotel is an experience. Don't book because you want a clean updated 3-4 star experience. You won't get that. This building is old and it shows, a lot. Overall though, I'd say this is a can't miss if you come through this area. We are going to see the bridge and the Foamhenge later today before moving on.

Beautiful spot for a walk, and you'll get some great nature photos along the way. The butterfly museum is small, but they have a wide variety. Be sure to enjoy a hotdog at the snack stand!

Amazing! We loved it... Our kids 11, 8, and 5 all really enjoyed the hike and caverns. This park has recently been acquired by the state of Va so the Drama of Creation show which has been running since 1927 will probably be axed which is unfortunate. We also had a nice stay at the Hotel... Not a brand new hotel so we weren't expecting new bathrooms. For the price and location we thought it was lovely.

The beauty is amazing! My husband and I walked the path from the entrance to the waterfall with our children 8,6,4,2. The staff were all so friendly and kind. Glad we added this to our trip.

Spectacular! If you can swing in here, do so, the bridge is just astonishing. The 2-mile round trip hike is worth it, as are the 137 steps down and back up at the beginning and the end. :-)

The rock bridge was pretty amazing. The waterfall was less amazing but it was still a nice walk to get to it. Definitely worth the trip.
