There's been a lot of controversy about this zoo and other "roadside zoos" owned by members of the same family. You may want to do some online searching and reach your own conclusion. http://www.wset.com/story/29036130/owner-of-natural-bridge-zoo-says-hes-in-compliance-and-ready-for-inspectors
This was a fun day trip, especially after having visited the nearby Natural Bridge. Some other reviewers have commented on the controversy of the zoo, and they are valid for doing so. The cages are small and is definitely a far stretch from the standards of state zoos. Then again, it is considered a "roadside attraction". That being said, the animals looked happy enough and it was a nice, and cheap, stop. Just keep in mind it is not a million-dollar zoo.
