Staff was super friendly. We called ahead for them to drop firewood which was no problem. The spaces by the playground for the big rigs were the only spaces that didn’t have trees. The rest were perfectly shaded. and the larger back in with patios were nicely sized but there’s a chain link fence that lines the back of that property that’s pretty unsightly. But the rest of the grounds are thoughtful and balanced. Good spacing and clean spots.
The KOA website didn’t offer up the premium patio spots as an option to reserve online which was frustrating seeing the options after we checked in and walked the grounds. We will always call ahead to confirm availability now. The whole campsite was about a quarter full.
Grounds are well kept and really harmonize with nature. We took our 3 and 2 yr old to walk the nature trail at the back of the property at dusk and caught fireflies for a good half an hour. A wonderful spot to get lost before dinner time.
We aren’t up for swimming or playgrounds during COVID and didn’t use any of the facilities. Spots closer to the highway do have road noise but by the office it’s completely unnoticeable.
We did talk with some neighbors who agreed this was a one of a kind KOA. ❤️
Great place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site was easy to get into and nice, right below the pool and office. Lots of trees. The bathhouse was roomy and clean. We appreciated being able to do our laundry when we got back from our visit into Lexington.
Wasn’t a huge fan of this KOA. We went cross country from Idaho all the way to Massachusetts and stayed at many KOAs and this one had no grass for our tents, the amenities were clearly for RVers as the tent sits were quite the hike to the bathrooms and pool and playground. To top it off the staff weren’t the friendliest. If you got an RV go for it but tent camping not so much!
This was our first KOA experience camping and it was in March so off season. It was great with pull through space, full hook up and friendly service. We just stayed for the night to see Natural Bridge State Park and then continue on but I would recommend it and stay again.
Natural Bridge was well layed out and beautiful. The staff was great and the bathrooms were clean. Good experience!
We stayed here one night on our way to Tennessee. We had a pull through site with full hookups. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just off of I-81, we could here some slight traffic noise. Campground had several Halloween themed family events going on, but it was very quiet at night and we got much needed rest before continuing our journey. Sites are close together but terraced in a way that feels more private. Bathhouse was clean, good water pressure and lots of hot water. Campground was clean and well-maintained. TIP: very close by is the Pink Cadillac Diner - good food and milkshakes, friendly staff, awesome oldies music, and lots of Elvis memorabilia but there will be at least a 15 minute wait for a table.

Most recent stay was June 19th thru June 22nd 2017 - I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area
We didn’t get as close to the restroom/shower building as we would have liked, but our site was more private than a lot of others. The building was roomy with ample # of stalls and sinks at the vanity area plus appeared to have been remodeled/updated with full on tile walls and floors, fixtures, and stalls. It was clean plus good ventilation with the AC during heat of summer. Nice conveniences in shower stalls with hooks for towels and clothes, shelves for toiletries, and a bench in private changing area. Only wish is for rubber floor mats to help keep feet off wet floor. Sink area had paper towels to help clean up after use (nice convenience) but wish for hooks between mirrors for hand towel
Usually don’t like KOA’s but this one is better than most because of more spacing between sites and selection of sites due to their aesthetics, some with grass, trees, picnic table area, privacy along with the special tent sites, and the rental cabins/tiny houses, sparkling swimming pool etc. However, each site is still quite narrow even with a gravel “patio type” extension for the picnic tables. Must mention this place is somewhat hilly and could require blocking to level your rv [checkout all my photo’s] and also a work in process renovating/improving various campsites; a thumbs up to the owners who show they really do care.

The campground is far enough off Interstate 80 that the road traffic is not too loud. Our site was not that level and didn’t offer much screening from the other sites. Lack of spacing and screening was typical at most sites. The light on the electrical boxes at night were too bright if you wanted to sit out. There were not a lot of bright lights on poles which is a plus to us. There is a short nature path through the woods near our site which worked well for walking dogs. Wifi was weak and same with cell.
Good for an overnight spot, but not where we would want to spend anytime.

This campground fit our needs perfectly. We were using this as an overnight stop on our way to Florida. We booked a pull through site and the site was long enough that we didn’t need to unhook.
Campground overview:
This campground was right off interstate 81 with easy on and off along with a gas station right out front. The roads were stone and no pavement in sight. The owners seem to be really nice and also seem to be investing time and money into the campground and it shows. The campground roads were wide enough and there was little to no campground traffic. The campground looked to be expanding or remodeling but all in a positive way. There are new cabins going, sites were being added or updated, the pool was nice and clean and the rest rooms were just remodeled and clean.
Getting checked in:
The check in process was easy and keep in mind this is during the Covid-19 Pandemic. You entered the campground almost directly from the interstate. The entrance was basically right across the street from the southbound off ramp. Then as you enter your will hit a dirt/stone road follow this even past some of the cabins. You will find the office right next to the pool. There was a gentleman there waiting and he escorted us to our site. Above I mentioned the roads were wide enough but you will notice there isn’t much wiggle room. Our site was near the back of the campground and the only difficult piece was a person staying in a cabin behind us had parked on the edge of the road. I had to make sure not to hit them with the tail swing. It was close but we made it.
Campsite:
Our campsite was unique as the campground has small hills. They designed this pretty well given the terrain. We had our site then a set of stairs leading down to the fire ring and picnic table. Some sites even had a deck built to compensate for the hilly terrain. We had full hookups on this site. The water pressure was good and the power pedestal was correctly set. The sewer hookup was interesting. It seemed to be a very small connection like 1 ½ or maybe 2 inch connection. I didn’t try connecting nor did I have something that small. I have never ran into this before. If someone has more details on this please let me know and I will update this review.
Checkout:
Check out was easy. Simply leave. I believe there was a trash pickup schedule be we didn’t need to worry about it.
Overall:
This seems to be perfect for both overnight stops and weekend a getaway. Very family friendly. It kind of reminds me of a state park feel.

Running at this KOA was hilly. You can run 2 miles from KOA to Safari Park up the hill on the way and back. Many local trails but very hilly.
Very easy access off of I81.
Sites were a decent size and not too uneven. We didn't use any of the facilities.
Decent AT&T coverage. Not sure of the number of bars.
