“a cup full of New Orleans' beset European traditions”
Café Beignet is a cup full of New Orleans' best European traditions. For two hundred years, New Orleanians have savored every sip of their rich coffee accompanied by delicate, crisp beignets (ben-yays). These golden squares, usually dusted with powdered confectioner's sugar, can best be described as a cross between a French pastry and an American doughnut. In New Orleans, beignets are enjoyed at a breakfast, for dessert, or any time for a special treat.
The line was super long. The wait for our beignets was longer--but they were good!
Cute little hole in the wall cafe. I had a sand which and my dad had something in a bowl. It was cold in the middle and he asked for another one. But they refunded us for our entire meal, gave us free desserts and drinks, and were the friendliest people I met the whole 2 days I roamed the French quarter :) lovely place and I would highly recommend it compared to an overly busy cafe. :)
