“Mission style Nola burritos”
Juan’s lit up on Feb.7, 1997 just before Mardi Gras. Loosely based on the San Francisco Mission style burrito joints that had been in vogue during the 80’s and early 90’s, we differentiated ourselves from a lot of the “scoop-and-serve” “tex-mex” restaurants that had popped up in New Orleans during the early and mid ‘90’s. We made our food to order and finished our flavors a la minute on the grill. Located in the Lower Garden District on Historic Magazine Row, we were well positioned for the renaissance that the neighborhood was about to undergo. Supported by many of the local artisans and business people alike, we begin to evolve into the world’s first Creole Taqueria. As more people began to understand our dedication to local food culture and value pricing, we realized that we would have to expand in order to serve up our unique take on Mexican to as many New Orleanians as possible, so we opened Mid-City Juan’s in July of 2002. Now, 10 years later we are able to see the fantastic results: A truly unique New Orleans style Mexican joint with creative interpretations of traditional dishes from both cultures. So, come discover our unique atmosphere and try a tasty treat! Hecho en NOLA!
