“Yummy! Yes Indeed!”
If you're not from here, you probably haven't heard of us. If you are, you already know that Mat & Naddie's offers its own brand of fine dining combined with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that has attracted a local following since opening nine years ago. Fine, yet accessible, local cuisine is the watchword here. Although we do get the occasional tourist who ventures off the beaten path, Mat & Naddie's caters to its neighbors' tastes. Almost a decade ago, longtime Mat & Naddie's cook, Steve Schwarz, purchased the restaurant from founders Paula and Michael Schramel and their children Nat & Maddie (get it?). Schwarz creates the friendly and funky look of a roadside café that does not betray how very ambitious the Creole fine dining menu is. When weather is pleasant, diners opt for patio seating, which offers silhouettes of horseback riders on the levee behind which freighters ply their way up and down the Mississippi.
