“introducing the world to New Orleans' style pizza”
In early 2003 we found a location that we were convinced could be the home of a niche food product that had not made its way into the annals of the New Orleans food culture: Pizza! After spending a couple of year’s making pies at home, we knew the time had come to introduce the world to New Orleans’ style pizza, and the Slice Pizzeria concept was born. Taking over the dress shop at 1513 St. Charles Ave. and converting it to a pizzeria took a grueling year and a half, but the results were well worth it! Using local Artesian water, King Arthur flour, and a variety of imported, organic, and super fresh toppings, we drove home the idea that you could have your pie and eat it too, especially if you wanted to try it a slice at a time. We opened the doors on St. Charles Ave. in July of 2004, and on Magazine St. in October of 2010. Also offering a full bar, creative salads, delicious pasta, unique appetizers and tasty sandwiches, we truly believe that we have achieved our goal of creating a distinctly New Orleans pizzeria, worthy of the title we earned from the Gambit Weekly Readers’ Poll: Best in New Orleans 2011!
