“the dictionary definition of a dive”
Voted "one of the best bars in New York" by Esquire Magazine. East Village dive bar named after the grassroots political movement of drinking cheap beer in an ambivalently rundown setting (Iake that bourgeois, upscale tavern drinking proletariat pigs!) This is the kind of place that is rarely the destination for a night but is a good place to start or finish it. Perfect for a St. Marks location. It's huge inside so it can handle the occasional gluts of people. Has three dart boards in the back but no pool table. Good music. No pretension.
