“Delightful espresso served with love”
Delightful espresso and delicious pastry served with love. Coming here is a little bit like visiting your grandmother's living room - if your grandmother was into cutting-edge coffee technology. Tucked away on a quiet block in Williamsburg, Tar Pit has an exceedingly relaxed and hospitable vibe. The small space, designed by co-owner Lauren Kidder, is decorated with antique clocks and light fixtures, as well as a welcoming floral couch. The baristas here are adept and unpretentious, using Kitten Coffee roasted in nearby Bed-Stuy to make top-notch espresso and creamy lattes. Come by during the summer for regular block parties, or for a cold-brewed iced coffee made with a Kyoto tower that looks like it could be part of a Rube Goldberg machine.
