“Manhattan’s first and only play cafe”
The Uncommons is Manhattan’s first and only play cafe, the perfect place to grab coffee or tea and a game of Scrabble or Settlers of Catan. We’re way more fun than any chain coffeehouse… and better for you than bar hopping. Open from 9AM to midnight most days, we’ve opened our doors in the former Village Chess Shop, at 230 Thompson in Greenwich Village. We offer convenient hours, free wi-fi, a $1 credit card minimum, plenty of comfortable tables and a variety of food and drinks from soup to sandwiches and salads, pastries, and more. The Uncommons aims to be the best neighborhood spot to study, read, or meet new people. And you’ll never be bored thanks to our library of games to play or purchase. The Uncommons raised $8,700 from 188 backers on Kickstarter! You can give it a gander here.
Awesome spot with hundreds of board games you can play for only $5! Best cheap spot in the city.
