“Measuring point in the heart of it all”
Columbus Circle, named for Christopher Columbus, is a major landmark and point of attraction in the New York Borough of Manhattan, located at the intersection of Eighth Avenue, Broadway, Central Park South, and Central Park West at the southwest corner of Central Park. It is the point from which all official distances from New York City are measured. The name is also used for the neighborhood a few blocks around the circle in each direction. To the south of the circle lies Hell's Kitchen also known as "Clinton", and the Theatre District, and to the north is the Upper West Side. Located in the heart of Manhattan at Columbus Circle (59th Street and Broadway), Time Warner Center is one of New York City’s most iconic destinations. It’s the place to dine, shop, live, work and be entertained. The soaring 2.8 million-square-foot landmark has transformed Columbus Circle into a thriving urban neighborhood. In the winter, this square, or more correctly, this circle, hosts a Holiday Market: November 28th – December 24th Monday – Saturday, 10:00am to 8:00pm Sunday, 10:00am to 7:00pm Saturday, December 24th, 10:00 to 4:00pm
