“The first Catholic Church in Newport”
The mission of St. Mary's Parish is to continue the work of Jesus Christ through Worship, Education, Stewardship and Service. The church was cursed by Protestants for being the first Catholic Church in the area. The ghost of a woman lives there and has been accepted into the church for she is very friendly and turns lights on and off, blowing out candles, and moving items.
