“with fantastic views, the oldest and largest mica mine”
Ruggles Mine is an open-pit mine that is no longer in operation and has been turned into a tourist attraction. The mine is located 30 miles northwest of Concord, in Grafton, New Hampshire, a short distance from Route 4 at the village green.
Closed when we tried to go in may 2017
It's not cheap but kids will have fun exploring the huge area looking for stones. It's mostly mica but rare and semi precious stones and minerals have been found.
