“over 180 scenic acres along the Elkhorn River”
This park consists of 180.3 acres along the Elkhorn River. There is a successful incorporation of the old and the new at this location. Included in the original park boundaries are facilities built back in the WPA days from 1936 to 1943. The old park area is heavily shaded by many stately old trees and the focal point is the large lagoon, left over from the days when the Elkhorn River flowed through the area where the park is now located. Also in the original park area there are 4 rental cabins, 2 large picnic shelters, 2 small picnic shelters, 1 sand volleyball court, multiple playground areas, 1 lighted official softball field (field #5), bathrooms at two locations, picnic tables, barbeque grills, canoe access to the Elkhorn River, fishing opportunities at the river and the lagoon (there is a handicapped fishing platform along the lagoon) and a public campground located between the river and the lagoon. A new Off-Leash Dog Recreation Area and the rail head to the Cowboy Trail, are available for the public to use.

Just off a busy highway in the heart of this industrial town. A nice city styled park with river and lagoons, campsites under cottonwood trees, gravel pads with lee tic at site. A nice stop, probably busy during warmer season, but perfect for snowbirds traversing the cold plains.

$12 got us electric only but there is a water filling station right where you enter the campground. Very nice city park. Well kept. Huge sites to fit a big rig and tow vehicle. Lots of grass for kids to run. Huge playground. Conveniences like Target and Walmart near by.

We got a great night’s sleep here after a long day of travel. Beautiful, old elm and cottonwood trees provide tons of shade and the cement pads make set up/ leveling a breeze. We were in town for a business meeting and were pleasantly surprised by the dining options in town, too!

Stayed one night. Might be one of the nicest city campground we’ve ever stayed at. Trees for shade, concrete pads and 30 and 50 amp electric. Everything was very clean and well groomed. Bathrooms were the typical campground bathrooms. Loved that it was right next to the Cowboy Trail. Only downside is got mostly 3G service through AT&T.
