“Cheeseburger on a paper plate”
Quatman Cafe was founded in 1966 by Albert (Albo) Imm and Ken Talmage. Quatman Cafe has become a Cincinnati icon known for cheeseburgers, chili, homemade soups, and the coldest beer in town. We've won several awards for Best Cheeseburger in Cincinnati and have been featured in Cincinnati Magazine, The Cincinnati Enquirer, CityBeat, aol.com, and many other publications. Quatman Cafe is a friendly family-oriented restaurant. We offer a deli with local and national brands.
Of all of the burgers I've had in Cincinnati, I'd rank this place 3rd. There's plenty of seating and you can get a drink, fries, and burger for just $5. Hard to beat that price. There's also a deli in the back of the building where you can buy meats, cheeses, or sandwiches.
Hard to beat this place. Low key, small town type of eating. No checks, no glasses, just good food.
Consistently one of the best burgers in the city. And served on a paper plate: http://www.diveswithoutwives.com/2012/06/04/dive-visit-1-quatman-cafe/
If anything, this place is notable because it's so bare bones. In a time when people put anything and everything on a burger patty, this place has no fancy toppings, and serves their food on paper plates. It's a really, really good burger, and if you've grown accustomed to gourmet hamburgers, it might be life-changing to realize that one can taste good without the fancy frills, but at the end of the day, it's just a burger.
I've been to the one in Mason, pretty classic burger joint but nothing to write home about
Over the past few years there has been an abundance of new burger spots pop up in and around Cincy. To this day Quatman's is still my favorite place to go to get a simple, mouth-watering burger. Traditionally the Cheeseburger has been served here with only american cheese, a thick slice of onion, and a side of sliced pickles. After recently adding a second location in Mason, the menu has also expanded and the burgers are presented with the option of "running it through the garden". My goto is the Cheeseburger (original style) and fries, cup of Chili, and a can of Coke. The friendly atmosphere, simply/quality food, and neighborhood nook, will be sure provide experiences you'll never forget.
