“Try the Dirty Sauce!”
What started as a two-man operation in a tiny location became what is now known as one of the hottest destinations in San Francisco. In October 2007, the doors to a small new sandwich shop opened on the corner of 16th street near Market. The founder, Ike Shehadeh, immediately created the first 25 *sandwiches on his now breaching 200 sandwich menu. It didn’t take long for people to start taking notice of the well crafted, well named, and exceptionally tasting creations, all of which were (and still are) served with Ike’s secret ‘Dirty Sauce’. The two-man show quickly expanded to a world renowned, 50+ employee operation, with over 2,500 reviews on Yelp, a featured episode on the Travel Channel’s second season of Man Vs. Food, a fan video featuring World Champion San Francisco Giant’s All star pitcher, Matt Cain, and most recently, the winner of the ESPN Fanwich award for the “Best Sandwich in the United States”, just to name a few. This San Francisco location has received more people and served more sandwiches every day since it’s grand opening in 2007. A normal work day consisted of over 1,000 sandwiches and a line that reached a full city block! The secret to Ike’s success could largely be attributed to its welcoming family style atmosphere. When you visit Ike’s, the employees remember your name, face, and your favorite sandwich. The unbelievable amount of followers has been continually growing like never before! In 2010 Ike’s opened “Ike’s Lair of Redwood Shores” which is now expanded to the most popular location, “Ike’s Lair of Redwood City”on 2655 Broadway St and El Camino, where the “Climate is Best by Government Test”. Call in at (650) 365-2200 or come on by! We are open 11am – 5pm 7 Days a week. Come be a part of history and taste the magic at “Ike’s Lair of Redwood City”. We proudly serve our community and bring amazing gourmet sandwiches to the Peninsula…
