“some of the best agate hunting around”
Located in the center of the community of Oceanside, this park offers some of the best agate hunting during the winter season when the sand is stripped away by ocean currents. During the summer season the park is a popular place to beachcomb, explore tidepools and surf. The sky above the park is occasionally filled with colorful hang gliders, paragliders and kites.
This beach is amazing! If you are there at the right time, take the low tide through the tunnel, around the next point to a secret beach and if possible make it into the LOST BOYS CAVE!!!
INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Wow, amazing beach!!!!! I arrived around 9 am, and there were maybe a dozen people there. The beach is incredibly clean! No trash, no animals, no seaweed, no dead animals (the crabs and things that the birds would drag up and eat, if there were birds here....but there aren't) There is a very cool tunnel through a big hill that takes you to the other side of the beach. I spent about 2 hours here, and wish I could've stayed all day. Absolutely must visit if you're in the area! It was a reasonable and very gorgeous drive from Portland, and the Tillamook creamery is very nearby.
