“perfect place to relax & unwind”

Ocracoke Island is part of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Ocracoke was named the number one beach in America in 2007. Ocracoke is accessible by ferry, boat or small plane. Ocracoke is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Enjoy our charming village and spend some unforgettable time on our beach. You’ll find everything you need for your perfect vacation in Ocracoke. We are very proud of our Island and the 16 miles of unspoiled beach that are part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Enjoy the unmatched natural beauty of Ocracoke's beach. You’ll find time to relax and unwind listening to the crashing waves and seagulls. Soak up the sun, enjoy the breeze, read a book, build a sandcastle, go swimming, catch a fish, or learn how to surf. You can enjoy our town by walking or bicycling the streets and back roads of our village. While you are here visit our historic 1823 lighthouse, the oldest operating lighthouse on the east coast. If it's history you are looking for, you’ll find it at the Ocracoke Preservation Museum. Visit the historic British Cemetery. Take a hike through a maritime forest to Teach’s Hole, once home to the notorious pirate, Blackbeard.

One of my favorites! There is also a history museum about the settlers there. And they also have golf carts to rent at reasonable rates for those that have trouble walking. Howard's pub is a classic. The food there is awesome.

This charming island is only accessible by ferry and is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. It has amazing art galleries, awesome cafes, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation. We think Ocracoke is home to one of the best beaches in NC!

There's a ridiculously charming village on the island and 16 miles of gorgeous beach. Whether you just want to sit back and listen to the waves crashing or watch the seagulls, this is relaxation at its finest. There's an historic 19th century lighthouse on the island and an historic British Cemetery. Definitely visit the Teach's Hole, which is a short walk through the forest, because it was once the home of Blackbeard!
