Spend Saturday at the museum gave it to five star rating. Fantastic work by many artists and great narrative on Western history. Well worth the admission price.
This is a must see. We really enjoyed it and will probably go again if we are in the area. Plan on spending the whole day. There is a lot to see.
This museum is huge and the tour is very informative. You can really see and know about the Western Heritage. The art displays are amazing and the facility are great too. You can bring your kids here too and sure they'll have fun because they also offer outside area for kids.
You can also shop and dine here.
What an incredible treasure in Oklahoma City! Exceeded my expectations immensely! Everything western, cowboy and western life including incredible collections of art from the masters.
Not to be missed!
The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is an incredible facility dedicated to preserving the legacy and history of America's frontier expansion era. The artifacts, the statutes, the films -- all combine to make the museum one of our country's greatest treasures. If you are visiting the Oklahoma City region anytime soon, you need to make it a point to visit this museum and enjoy a true piece of American history.
Excellent museum. There is a lot to see. They have numerous sections and it changes the whole vibe of the museum tour. It's not just art. Definitely worth the visit.
I'm from California, and have enough western/cowboy stuff there, but this is truly an incredible collection. Beautiful, educational, amazing! The docents are helpful, and friendly, so much to see, prepare to spend the day! They have a whole town set up inside a building with incredible detail... We went in January, we were the only ones walking around in the "ghost town". It was amazing. They have a whole building with hands-on stuff for kids. It's another Gem!
I would give it higher than 5 stars if that were possible. The museum is a maze of true artwork and artisanship, incredible. And don't miss the western town... We stumbled upon it on accident and it was such a highlight to end our tour. They should film a movie in there. Even if you aren't into "western" stuff this is something anyone would appreciate and enjoy.
It is well worth the stop. There are Remington's in there and a lot of other art. The old guns and rifles are priceless.....beautiful. I enjoyed the western history and especially the art.
Artwork is FANTASTIC and very well displayed. The grounds are so interesting and beautiful to walk through. But the highpoint was eating at their café, food was amazing! A must see!
