“A 5,252-acre camping park in Olga”
Moran State Park is a 5,252-acre camping park with five freshwater lakes and over 30 miles of hiking trails. Atop the 2,409-foot-high Mt. Constitution, the highest point on the San Juan Islands, there stands a stone observation tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936. The tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding islands, the Cascade Mountains and a variety of Canadian and American cities.

Privacy is just so so but the view of the lake is amazing. Many sites including ours has private access to the lake.
A road is real close by and is noisy at times. The southern section of the campground wouldn’t have this issue.
T-Mobile has been great with just 2 bars. Verizon even with a weboost wasn’t enough for web browsing.

This is a great spot and the sites are decent. If this was anywhere else I might not be back but the area offers so much it is worth the trip. There are not many level sites and the tent sites are really close to one another. Lots of kids. Across from the lake. Many hikes from here or a gory drive away. Site 109 was okay for our 16 foot airstream but we had to use blocks. We were closed to the road so road noise was around but not horrible. Only one bathroom women’s had 4 toilets and one shower for a lot of people. There was fresh water every few sites. We love the area and will probably be back.

This place is gorgeous, but DAMN. I have a 22' truck camper and I wouldn't want to bring anything bigger into this place. ALL the sites are TEENY. I originally booked site 61, but there was no way I could back into it (the turn was uphill and really tight) or get under the trees overhanging the site (my rig is 12'6" tall). I went back to the gate and got site 18. Managed to get in, did about a 12 point turn to get out. It's also right on the road. And right on the water, but... Not sure it was worth it. Be warned that if you choose to drive up Mt. Constitution, it's a very steep (more than 10%) grade with lots of hairpin turns. I was grateful for my engine brake on the way down.

We camped at Midway in Moran State Park. It's a small campground that is surrounded by forests. Our campsite had an amazing view of the lake. There is a swimming area within walking distance. The sites are ideal for tent or hammock camping. Don't forget to put your food away, the deer are plentiful and don't seem too afraid to stroll through your campsite. Orcas Island is accessed via the ferry, so make ferry reservations far enough in advance, it does fill up. There are lots of trails, with small waterfalls sprinkled about, to hike and explore.

We stayed up in Mountain Lake site 135 for three nights. We hiked the 4 mile loop around the lake and the 7 mile Mt Picket hike. No T mobile or Verizon signal unless you walk over to the dock and the wind is blowing right. You might get 1 bar of LTE.
Moved to the south end campground to site 11 which is right on the lake with great access for stand up paddle boarding or kayaking. The site is also right across from showers and clean bathrooms. 3 bars of 5G T Mobile and Verizon down on Cascade Lake.

Wow! We stayed at site 115 in North End campground in Moran SP. The bathrooms are uphill from this site. The trees are magical. Must hike to cascade falls and mount constitution. Both views are fantastic! The showers are pay 50 cents for 3 minutes, 1.25 for 7 1/2 minutes. Bring quarters, hot water too! Walk across the street to cascade lake and rent kayaks or SUP’s. Loved it!
Lots of friendly hiking trails, waterfalls, and tons of nature to experience. The lake within the park is clean and accessible and you can also go up to Mt. Constitution.
