The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail winds nearly 4,900 miles through the homelands of more than 60 Tribal nations. It follows the historic outbound and inbound routes of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-1806 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the Pacific Ocean. Follow the trail to find the people, places, and stories that make up the complex legacy of the expedition.
This is actually the Visitor's Center for the Lewis and Clark National Trail, which we stopped by to visit while on our way to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. It's a relatively quiet center, but it was ideal for our 7-year-old to become a Junior Ranger at since it will help us avoid the chaos of him trying later in the summer at a larger national park. The park rangers were super nice, helpful, and informative, and they really went out of their way to make sure ALL of my kids (7, 3, and 2) had a good time, which I especially appreciated.
Access to the park is closed.
