The Museum of East Alabama is dedicated to: Providing an environment for public benefit for the preservation, interpretation, exhibition, and housing of historical items and memorabilia that are native to, or pertain to, the history of East Alabama. The East Alabama area is to include Chambers, Lee, Macon, Tallapoosa, and Russell County. Promoting, improving, maintaining, developing, and expanding our current facilities. Striving for a greater degree of financial stability and independence. Becoming a dynamic and strong educational facility with which area schools can utilize as a reference tool for developing student knowledge, enthusiasm, and appreciation for historical objects, while also gaining a further understanding of local and state history.
