“overlooked gem”
From the North Falls Trailhead, cross the North Fork of Silver Creek on a bridge. Turn right on the Upper North Falls Trail and loop beneath the trail bridge and the Highway 214 Bridge. From here, the trail ambles along, just above creek level. You'll pass the Perimeter-Upper North Falls Trail Junction and in about a quarter mile you'll come to Upper North Falls. Upper North Falls is the only waterfall in Silver Falls State Park that's not on a trail loop. Stashed away east of the highway, "Upper North" is often overlooked or forgotten by visitors. For that reason it may be the most peaceful waterfall in the park. The North Fork of Silver Creek drops of a 25 foot basalt ridge here.
