“once owned by an exiled russian prince”

Princess Place Preserve, with its rich history and 1500 pristine acres, attracts nature enthusiasts from near and far. It provides a glimpse of old Florida. Visitors can take in its splendor while on one of the many hiking trails, fishing the salt marshes along the Matanzas River and Pellicer Creek, or camping out under the stars. The preserve is a popular spot for horse enthusiasts, with an equestrian campsite and plenty of trails that make it is easy to embrace nature while enjoying a ride. This beautiful 1,500-acre preserve is situated in the northern part of Flagler County. It was purchased by Henry Cutting in 1886 and passed on to his widow Angela Mills Cutting Worden, who eventually married Boris Scherbatoff, an exiled Russian prince. Angela assumed the title of princess and it was then that the once named "Cherokee Grove" came to be known as "Princess Place." The original lodge, built by Henry Cutting, stills stands as Flagler County's oldest intact structure. It is also home to Florida's very first in-ground swimming pool. Available Facilities and Activities: • Bicycling • Birding • Campfire Rings • Camping - Equestrian • Camping - Group • Camping - Primitive • Canoe/Kayak Launch • Canoeing and Kayaking • Fishing • Hiking/Nature Trails • Historic Site • Horse/Equestrian Trails • Interpretive Exhibit • Pets • Picnic Pavilion • Picnicking • Restroom Facilities • Weddings • Wildlife Viewing

This is a hidden gem and I don’t want to ruin this place but I want my Campendium family to know. I’ve stayed at Moody Cut, the Equestrian Sites, and the regular Moody sites as well. The park is incredible. It’s beautiful and real Florida highly recommend.

No RVs. Tents only. Nice to not be surrounded by monster RVs. Lots of hiking and biking. Roads are dirt but not to bad for our road bikes. Moody sites are on a river and are very separated. Only porta let’s but if you walk a short distant to the equestrian area you will have flush toilets and a shower. 2 o’clock on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can take a tour of the old lodge.

This camp Ground was infested with ticks and because it's near water the frogs were so loud at night that I could not sleep. They're also is no water hole or any place to swim so it's hot and miserable.

This is a great place to haul in for horseback riding. They have a bounty of beautiful trails and their main grounds are very well kept. They have mounting blocks, wash racks, and large water tubs for the horses. The grounds are very navigable even for larger rigs and there is good parking in the shade.
