wow this thing is amazing! must do, especially good on a family trip. a little scary and be prepared to wait during the busy season. you climb an elevation so high that you'll need a jacket at the top. you may spot deer and snow too!.. even in spring or near summer! amazing view! if hiking or camping is your thing, there are a few campgrounds and decent hikes once you get up there. just remember to purchase an adventure pass in advance or you will not be allowed to camp.
It was a little esspensive, $25 per ticket, but it was so cool. Plan to do some hiking or eat dinner or grab a drink at the bar and make it worth it. It's really not as scary as it looks standing at the bottom looking up! Also, if it's spring winter or fall, check what the temperature at the top is: it can be 30 degrees snow a lot up there and still be like 70 in the valley. It was 40 degrees up there when I went at the end of April, I'm glad we thought to bring sweatshirts !
