“founded by Benjamin Crowley!”

Located atop the forested hills in northeast Arkansas, Crowley's Ridge State Park occupies the former homestead of Benjamin Crowley, whose family first settled this area.Native log and stone structures, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, set the mood for this park's rustic warmth. Park facilities include a group lodging area featuring five bunk cabins, a kitchen/dining hall and bathhouse; four fully-equipped, modern duplex cabins with kitchens [in two duplex units]; 26 campsites (18 Class B and eight Tent Sites); picnic areas; snack bar; trails; standard pavilions; baseball field; 31-acre fishing lake (electric motors only); and a 3 1/2-acre swimming lake. The park offers fishing boat, kayak, and pedal boat rentals. Interpretive programs are offered here throughout the year. Crowley's Ridge State Park is 15 miles north of Jonesboro on Ark. 141; or nine miles west of Paragould on U.S. 412, then two miles south on Ark. 168.

Older campground with lots of trees. There are 16 campsites with water and electricity. Sites are spaced far enough for privacy. Bathhouse has hot showers and is heated, it was clean and adequate. A few short hiking trails, two lakes, one for fishing and one for swimming. There was one other camper here, I never saw them. Staff was friendly and helpful at the small store/office.
There is a dump station. Senior discount is 25% from the $22.

Lovely little park, well maintained. Sites aren’t too close together, so you have privacy. Paragould, the closest town, is about 20 minutes away, and has lots of food and shopping options. Hiking trails are easy to moderate, and well marked. Fishing wasn’t great, though. Lots of tv channels on antenna, plus AT&T cell service was adequate. We’ll definitely be back.

Camped 10/1/19 (Tues). Calling ahead for availability, the woman (Kris) told us there was only one other camper and held the pull-through site for us (site 1).  Upon arriving, she was super friendly and gave us the senior discount, taking the $23 charge down to $19.  There is no entrance fee to the state park.

The campground is one road in with a large circular turn-around at the end.  A shower house is situated kind of toward the end.  Tent sites are park & walk-in located at the beginning of the road, with 2 water spigots (1 at end, 1 in the middle).  RV sites have water & electrical and our pull-through site had a walk-down area with picnic table, fire ring, trash hook and a tent pad. Campground was mostly shaded.  Site 1 is the only pull-through; the rest are back-in.  The handicapped site (#3) is next to the shower house/bathroom.

Bathroom was clean, nice smelling, with hand soap & air dryers.  The shower was great, with a nice shower head and good water flow.  The shower room had 2 curtains which was nice, so the seat didn't all wet.

Pads were mostly level, but some did slant downhill.  Some are spaced out, some are closer to each other.  Our stay was pretty quiet since we were practically alone in the campground, but we did hear some noise from outside the park. Animal-proof trash bins are in various places.  For cell service, we either had 1 bar or no service at all.

Park offers trails including a paved walkway around the swimming lake, swimming area (during the summer season), boat rentals, and there are lots of picnic areas.

The park was small but beautiful. We had a wonderful first night but on our second day my family probably picked more than 30 ticks off of us. You could see the tick just steadily crawling up our legs. It was so bad that my children were scared to even come out of the RV after that. So we packed up two days early and found another campground 2 hours away. I hate that the ticks were so bad because it really was a cute little park.

Very scenic, with nice well marked trails. The swimming beach looked awesome, but we were there off-season. The small campground was very family friendly and spaced out nicely. Larger RVs will have trouble, our 24ft camper and crew cab were about as big as I’d want to try to fit in the sites. The big trees could pose a backing challenge, only one site is pull through. We didn’t have room to fully open our awning. Lots of mosquitoes. Friendly staff and neighbors made it a great weekend getaway

I chose this site based on others reviews and was so glad I did. This is a small park with only 26 campsites, about half of which are RV. Great layout. Although sites are near each other they have angled them so there is privacy. 05 has a small maintenance cabin next to it which gives even more privacy. Water and electric were very close for ease of connection. Restrooms were impeccably clean. Trails and beach are lovely. I’ll definitely return if I’m back in this neck of the woods.
Was able to get TMobile voice and data with cell booster. Voice only without booster on.

Site 1 appears to be the only pull thru and we had plenty of room for our 35’ fifth wheel, truck, and visitor’s car. Easy setup after dark. Gravel but fairly level site. Power is on “wrong” side but our 30’ cord was sufficient. Cool picnic table stepped down to tent pad. Full shade all the time. With only 18 RV sites plus 5-6 tent sizes traffic and noise was minimal. Great swim lake with slide (closed at our visit in October) tons of hiking paths, and great playground.

Cell service a bit weak but passable for streaming TV and browsing.

Like most Arkansas state parks, the staff is excellent. They are friendly, helpful, have a direct phone number, and are present.

Trails are nice, shaded, and you can get 3.5-4mi out of them if you pick your route well. There is a sandy beach for the kids and a swimming area. There are also kayak and boat rentals on both nearby lakes. The woods, hills, and surrounding area are beautiful. Lots of good nature.

The campground is older and lacks sewage. The bath house is clean and regularly maintained, but dated.

RV spots are short, narrow, and some are off level. I cannot fit my 23' trailer and tow vehicle fully in my site. There also isn't much space to park the tow vehicle next to the trailer. This is a problem for most of the sites. Site #4 is pretty level. Some others have a little unevenness in side-to-side or front-to-back. With the exception of one site, most level issues should be correctable.
